Welcome to the North Weald Flying Group. The North Weald Flying Group is currently a four aircraft membership flying group based at the historical North Weald Airfield (EGSX). The airfield has excellent flying facilities as well as two cafés and is conveniently situated close to Junction 7 of the M11 Motorway, between Epping and Harlow in Essex.
We Offer
The Flying Group
The NWFG is run by an instructor and an instructor/examiner so bi-annual instructor flights, refresher flights and proficiency checks are all easily arranged as are cross channel familiarisation’s which are very popular with our members to broaden their flying horizons. The North Weald Flying Group also has a very active flying calendar for our members. These group trips offer a range of exciting and interesting days out from flying into active RAF stations and even weekend trips across Europe to group night flying flights. The group is run by a commercial airline pilot and examiner with the intention of encouraging people to take up aviation and then develop their skills and interests – whether this is for personal enjoyment or as a career.
North Weald Flying Group has a great range of planes to choose from and unlike other clubs, groups or training organisations, North Weald Flying is happy to allow longer-term booking of planes. Rather than flying in circles close to the base, this makes it possible to take the plane away and have a real flying adventure while also building your hours and experience.
